Trim Levels & Safety
The 2026 Discovery lineup includes the S, SE, and HSE trim levels. Standard features include LED headlights and 20-inch wheels, along with emergency braking and adaptive cruise control with steering assist. Moving up to the SE adds convenience features like a hands-free power liftgate, while the range-topping SE trim includes premium features such as 22-inch wheels and enhanced leather upholstery.
The Lexus GX lineup has the Standard, Premium, and Luxury trim levels. The base model includes notable features like adaptive variable suspension and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which offers a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and lane departure alert with steering assist. Livonia commuters will also appreciate the available Traffic Jam Assist feature, though the GX lacks some of the Discovery's more advanced camera technologies. Though Waterford buyers considering the Premium trim will find additions like leather upholstery and a premium audio system. Although the Luxury trim adds features such as a head-up display and semi-aniline leather.
Mercedes-Benz offers the GLE in 350, 450, and AMG variants. The GLE 350 provides a well-equipped starting point with tech similar to that of the Discovery. But it does add active brake assist, active lane keeping assist, and blind spot assist. In higher trims like the GLE 450, there's a mild-hybrid powertrain and additional luxury appointments. However, the Discovery does offer more features in its base model, making it the better value.
